Unity-Joy Dale has a background in teaching and fine art. For over 12 years she has worked as a creative therapist with the physically disabled, in particular with those with head injuries. She also ran a small private practice and is a CRUSE supervisor. Her main work now is running creative shamanic workshops and courses in Athens, including drum-making and the crafting of other shamanic tools.
Bruce Greenhalgh currently manages Employee Assistance programmes for corporate clients. He has an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. Bruce is an accredited Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and has a diploma in Adlerian Counselling & a Certificate in Adlerian Supervision.
Keith Lewis has worked for a private counselling agency, (sponsored by Reading Borough Council), for 17 years, as a volunteer. Regarded as an Integrative Counsellor his practice is grounded in a Person Centred approach. He has been supervising counsellors for 6 years and with a co-trainer assists in the design and implementation of a rigorous skills based training programme. The agency works with young people - 11 to 25 years old. Keith also works in Further Education.
Margaret Nimmo-Smith trained in Adlerian counselling in Cambridge and is now an accredited Adlerian counsellor and a tutor on the Diploma in Adlerian Counselling in Cambridge, and is UKCP Registered. She has also completed an Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal Psychotherapy, and has undergone groupwork training. She works part-time for a GP practice and also has a private practice, and works as a supervisor. She has been working for Cambridge Cruse Bereavement Care for over 12 years, as a volunteer and also as a supervisor and trainer.
Jill Reynolds has a Diploma in Adlerian Counselling and a degree in Psychology. She has been a tutor on the Adlerian Counselling training course in Aylesbury for the past 6 years. She works creatively with young people for Connexions and has a private practice in Buckinghamshire.
PRINCIPAL FACILITATORS:
Linda Edwards Cert Ed, MA(Oxon), M.Ed, Dip ASIIP, MBACP accred, Cert Adl Supervision. Linda taught in Primary and Secondary schools before taking up a lectureship in 1986-1998 at King's College London where she directed PGCE and MA research in Religious Education. It was in 1989 that she met Helen Anderson and became fascinated with Adlerian Psychology. Linda facilitated a 2 year Adlerian Certificate in London before moving to Pembrokeshire with her husband Phil. Now she counsels and supervises in private practice and trains at Certificate and Diploma level. She is also the co-ordinator of the Adlerian Counselling Centre in Narberth and growing older with long white hair, Bob Dylan, and fine wine.
Dr. Karen John is a developmental psychologist who works as a researcher, trainer, lecturer, consultant, psychotherapist, and as supervisor of therapeutic and work-based practice. With 36 years of experience in mental health services, research and training, her abiding aim is to help individuals, families, organisations and a range of professionals to recognise and overcome internal and external obstacles that interfere with their healthy functioning and development. Over the past eight years she has supported agencies, leaders and staff involved in integrating services for children and families. Most recently she has been mentoring and tutoring leaders of Children’s Centres as part of the development and roll-out of the new National Professional Qualification for Integrated Centre Leadership and MA courses. She has developed a number of short courses on child and adolescent mental health, work-based supervision, family change and changing families, and working with young people and families.
Phil Edwards spent many years running his own shot blast company in the Midlands. He then specialised in paints and coatings and the preservation of old buildings. He has done a 2 yr Adlerian Certificate Course and participated in 3 ICASSI summer schools. He is interested in male psychology and finds he uses his Adlerian thinking in non-formal ways with lots of men who would otherwise go nowhere near a Counsellor. Phil loves Classic Bikes, Pavarotti and Chocolate and his border Collie, "Frodo".
Vincent Byrne is an Adlerian practitioner currently working in a number of schools with students and families, providing a 'working with professionals group' as part of an initiative within education. Other work includes art therapy groups, lifestyle assessments, training courses, lectures etc. Vincent says "I write and paint and enjoy the variety that working as an independent brings: perhaps the main aim of my work is to be part of encouraging psychology into the fourth wave - closer to self help and democracy in action". He is an active member of the Irish Adlerian Society.
Camilla Ghazala MBACP Accred, Dip IIP, Cert Supervisor, Nutritionist, Life Coach, Anger Management Facilitator is a Counsellor, Supervisor, Tutor and Holistic Health Professional. She obtained her Dip IIP in 2002 (Cambridge) where she teaches the Introduction to Counselling Course. She works as a Counsellor for Occupational Health (NHS) and Tutors for HMP Highpoint, Mind and other organizations. She has her own private practice and is the Managing Director of CSN (Counselling Solutions Network) who provide a range of Talking Therapies to Corporate Clients. Her background includes 12 years in Financial Management, and has practiced in Holistic Health since 1989. Camilla trained Anger Management Facilitation in 2002 with Mind/GATE. (www.csn-uk.com)
Wendy Goddard is the founder of The Listening Ear, a charity in Bournemouth which meets the needs of children, young people and their families. She currently provides supervision for the team of counsellors as well as other professionals working with young people. She is dedicated to disseminating good practice by facilitating seminars, workshops, and parenting support groups, much influenced by the work of Alfred Adler et al. Although having had a varied career: a psychiatric nurse, teacher, an LEA advisor, counsellor and supervisor, Wendy has always had children and young people at the heart of her work. Her creative approach is always fun but well grounded in theory. She is on the Committee of AFNUK, the newly formed Adlerian Family Network
Paul Lindemann is a counsellor, supervisor and trainer working within an integrated humanistic framework. He is an external consultant for the Adlerian training course in Aylesbury and has a growing international reputation for his work.
Diana Nesbit-West has had a varied career as a professional dancer and teacher of ballet. She found the Adlerian Society approximately 12 years ago when she decided to train as a counsellor finally gaining her Diploma in Cambridge. For the last 6 years she has worked with a local charity "The Listening Ear" providing one to one counselling for young people and families. She also delivers courses for parents covering parenting skills, life changes (dealing with stress and anger) and self esteem.
Sue Anne O'Donnell Woman, Wife, Mother, Liver of life to the fullest, a Life Coach in Private practise with an Adlerian background is delighted to have this wonderful opportunity to facilitate at Green Park this summer. As someone who works on a daily basis with youth and adults this year's choice and mix of workshops at GP offers a beautiful balance perfectly suited to Sue Anne's `slightly Irish approach'!!!
Peter Saunders Advanced Cert IIP, Anger Management Facilitator, NVQ A1 Assessor, IAG (Learning Development Advisor) completes his Diploma in Adlerian Psychology and Counselling in June 2008 (Cambridge), his placement is at a local GP Surgery. Peter trained in Anger Management Facilitation in 2004 and has been delivering this course on behalf of Mind since. He is a professional NVQ assessor specializing in the Transport Industry. Peter's interest is working with families and young people and currently coaches under 8's football for Newmarket Town.
Rachael Ayres is a third year student of Individual Psychology. She is currently working in a large secondary school with young people of all ages and abilities, including those with special educational needs. She has been working creatively with young people for several years, and is passionate about the art making process.
